Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL)
CIL is a land tax that can add significant costs to even the most innocuous of developments. The CIL regulations are complex but not all developments will incur a CIL liability and some developments may be eligible for an exemption.
We would always advise any business owner, developer or homeowner beginning a project to consider their CIL liability and any possible exemptions when discussing planning permission.
Over the years we have helped our clients apply for CIL exemptions for a wide range of projects. To date, our biggest single exemption was for a value in excess of £200,000.
