Site Construction Management Plans
Site Construction Management Plans (SCMPs) are a new requirement for planning applications within the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea.
The Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea (RBKC) Council has responded to residents concerns with construction traffic, noise, dust and general site working conditions by introducing the requirement for most sites to prepare and submit for their approval a SCMP.
Site Construction Management Plans in RBKC are required after you have been granted planning permission but before you can start works on site. They bring together the various issues that can arise when doing extensive works such as construction traffic, noise, dust and site working hours.
In days gone by only larger building works, such as basement developments or new houses were controlled by the council through Construction Traffic Management Plans (CTMPs). Nowadays, RBKC requires a SCMP to be submitted for almost ALL planning works. Only the smallest of projects are exempt so if you are building a conservatory or having a roof extension built, you will need a Site Construction Management Plan.
ADL Planning can prepare a Site Construction Management Plan for your planning application. We regularly prepare SCMPs for sites throughout Kensington and Chelsea, including working with a number of high profile building firms, often in conjunction with preparing Construction Traffic Management Plans (CTMPs) for the same sites.
ADL Planning will ensure that the requirements of your building site are translated into a workable document that will be considered acceptable by your local council.
We offer these reports on a fixed fee basis and will handle the full submission to your council.
